N08904 is a high-nickel austenitic stainless steel, used under severe corrosion condition in the process industry. This material grade owns the following characteristic:
● Excellent corrosion resistance in acidic environment, e.g. sulphuric,
phosphoric and aceric acid
● Very good resistance to pitting corrosion in neutral chloride environment
● Better resistance to crevice corrosion
● Very good resistance to stress corrosion cracking
● Good weldability
N08904 is a multipurpose material for use under severe corrosive condition. This material is an excellent alternative to standard austenitic stainless steel grades in the heat exchanger using high temperature water with chloride contamination.
The typical applications include the following:
Tube used in the oil refinery and petrochemical equipment
Tube used for the storage and transport of sulfuric acid
Tube used in the reactor and centrifuge in the medical industry
